Thank you for the opportunity to introduce you to Madruga Iron Works, Inc.
Madruga Iron Works, Inc. is a fifth generation family business, started in 1914 as a Blacksmith Shop in Milpitas, CA. As the business has passed from one generation to the next, it has changed and expanded from servicing the agricultural needs of the Santa Clara Valley, to servicing the emerging utility and custom industries of Northern and Central California.
In 1969, Joseph R. Madruga bought the business from his father Raymond J. Madruga and in 1974 Madruga Iron Works, was Incorporated. In the 1970's, Madruga Iron Works began working with Underground Precast Industries by developing and supplying covers, frames and molds for Utility Companies. To this day, we are constantly striving to engineer and develop newer, more efficient and safer products for the Utility Industry.
As the 1980's approached, the need for a Machine Shop was growing and the company grew to meet these needs. Over the 1980's, the Machine Shop grew from a small corner of the facility to its own building that combined the Machine Shop with specialty Welding and Metal Fabrication. We expanded our capabilities to include manufacturing custom parts for our own products, as well as various items for research and development. We now specialize in this area by manufacturing prototypes and custom items in steel, stainless steel and aluminum. With an ever-increasing standard and custom product lines, the company relocated in 1988 to a larger site in Tracy, California to accommodate our fabrication needs.
In the 1990's, we improved our Design Department with the addition of a full time Mechanical Engineer on site. All engineering needs are now done in-house and all designs are done on a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) System. Submittals can now sent electronically directly to the customer and several of our details have been published in various municipalities' and cities' specifications.
Now with the new millennium upon us, we have grown to three buildings on a 5.5-acre facility with over 70,000 square feet under roof. We are constantly modernizing our equipment through robotics as well as computer and laser technologies. We are looking to the future, that we may continue to service the changing needs of you the customers.
We invite you to visit our facility or speak to our professional and friendly staff about you steel, stainless, and aluminum fabrication and machining needs.
Thank you,
Raymond M. Madruga President
